Safety locks

In the car the certain established quantity of a current is necessary for each electric device. According to this current the cross-section section of the leader to the wire device is defined also.

If in this electric chain the current, for example, because of occurrence of additional consumers or because of short circuit this wire is overloaded raises. Thus it can heat up slightly or even to start to be heated, if in due time not to interrupt current receipt. It is done also by safety locks. As it has already been noted, that car Audi at defect in an electrochain has not appeared completely without a food, safety locks are distributed in various electrochains. However connections between the accumulator, the generator, a starter and the ignition lock are not protected by safety locks.

Replacement of safety locks

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. If it is necessary to replace one of safety locks, you can use the small plastic nippers strengthened on a cover of the central switching centre for a detachment.
  2. If the new safety lock again fuses at once, it is necessary to check up, whether too weak safety lock has been established.
  3. If the safety lock has been picked up truly, it is necessary to reveal on the basis of the table of safety locks the connected consumers of a current and to check up each of them separately. Thus the corresponding electroscheme also will help.
  4. In a doubtful case it is necessary to disconnect all consumers and to connect them one after another on the single. The consumer at which connection the safety lock fuses, is faulty.

Additional safety locks

On certain versions with the additional equipment on the additional block of the central switchboard additional safety locks are located. These are what in the table of safety locks are specified at numbers 23 – 28.

Number 22 is necessary on cars with the diesel engine. As on this panel at some versions safety locks for ignition and injection system are located. The red cover with an inscription «Motor-Moteur» serves thus as protection.
