The fan of system of cooling

Audi 80 it is supplied by the fan with the electric drive connected only if necessary. Thereby fuel is saved.

Therefore in a radiator the thermosensitive switch is screwed in. If he "feels" that the liquid proceeding by it after radiator passage is still hot, it includes the fan by means of the relay on штекерной to a cell 2. In the same way it disconnects the electrofan if the temperature in the bottom part of a radiator has fallen to certain size.

The two-level fan of system of cooling

In some variants Audi 80 it is supplied by the two-level fan. At the big loading on the engine and accordingly more to a heat of a cooling liquid the thermoswitch includes higher speed of the fan. It is possible thanks to a two-level thermoswitch which includes the second way of a current to the fan through one more relay located in штекерной to a cell 11.

  • In certain versions of equipment Audi 80, for example, with the 4-cylinder engine established at factory by the tjagovo-hook-on device (turnbuckle) or on cars with strengthened system of cooling – the additional fan near to already mentioned fan of system of cooling is established. It is resulted by means of wedge a belt of the first fan.
  • On models with the 5-cylinder engine there is no place for the second fan of system of cooling. Therefore at installation of the tjagovo-hook-on device at factory this engine equip with more powerful engine of the fan.
  • Models with the 6-cylinder engine in a standard complete set are supplied by one, in special execution – two fans resulted separately.

On an illustration fans of system of cooling of the 4-cylinder engine with the strengthened system of cooling are shown. It functions as follows: actually the fan of system of cooling (2) results the second fan of system of cooling (1) by means of small wedge a belt.

At the 6-cylinder engine on a place of a similar design there is a two-level fan. Cars with the strengthened system of cooling are supplied – opposite – two two-level fans, everyone with own drive.

The thermoswitch of the fan of system of cooling is established on a radiator below. Illustrations show: at the left – the 4-cylinder engine, on the right – 6-cylinder. Except shown, there are variants оснащений at which the thermoswitch is established on a radiator left-hand side.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. The 4-cylinder engine capacity of 66 kw: the thermoswitch operates the fan not directly, and through the relay on штекерной to a cell 2 central switchboards. That is it is in a chain of management of the relay and defines, when contacts which switch an electrocurrent from the plug 30 (constantly being energised) to the fan should be closed.
    The chain of management receives a current from plug H only at the included ignition so relay contacts can be closed only in position of the included ignition.
  2. The 4-cylinder engine capacity of 85 kw and the 5-cylinder engine: on these models the two-level fan with certain double switching is established: the double thermoswitch operates through the relay on штекерной to a cell 11 slower step of work of the motor of the fan.
    At these engines switching is supplemented with so-called inclusion of the fan after engine cessation of work. It functions as follows: if in a motor compartment after an engine stop hot air the fan of system of cooling provides access of cold air stands. Thereby formation of steam stoppers in топливопроводах a high pressure – the reason of problems of start of the hot engine is prevented.
    In this electroscheme the thermoswitch on a head of the block of cylinders "feels" temperature and includes the fan through the block of management of inclusion of the fan of system of cooling after engine cessation of work on штекерной to a cell of the relay 3.
  3. The 6-cylinder engine: here we deal with one or two two-level fans. The double thermoswitch (originally its part for the first step) passes through the relay on штекерной to a cell 11 current for the first speed of the fan. The slowed down rotation is reached by means of installation of the additional resistor which limits food giving to the fan engine.
  4. If the thermoswitch connects the second speed of the fan food giving goes through the relay on штекерной to a cell 18, – this time directly to the separate fan or to two engines of the fan around резисторной plates.

 The help: from electric connection through plug H (the electrosystem see also head body) it turns out that the fan of system of cooling – it is unimportant, one- or two-level – at the switched off ignition cannot begin work.

Otherwise business is at models with the 4-cylinder engine capacity of 85 kw and with the 5-cylinder engine because of function of inclusion of the fan of system of cooling after engine cessation of work. Here the fan can earn and at the switched off engine. Therefore be cautious at works in a motor compartment!
