Automatic transmission (АКП)

Automatic transmission Audi 80 copes elektronno/gidravlicheski. Along with four transfers this transmission is supplied also by two programs of switching. The driver can choose, whether he wishes to move, saving fuel (button "Sport" is not pressed, АКП switches in the economic program the raised transfer as soon as possible), or he wants as it is possible to use more full capacity of the engine (button "Sport" is pressed, in separate ranges of change of transfer relation АКП switches the raised transfer only on higher turns).

The general principle of action

Kernel АКП are so-called planetary numbers. They consist of a gear wheel round which three more gear wheels rotate. The ring gear wheel from above is put on all it with internal gearing. Similar knots are in pairs collected in one tooth gearing and form own small two-speed transmission. In similar transmissions the way of their switching is ingenious.

Change of transfer number occurs only by задерживания or release elements of planetary numbers. Thus there is a switching without effort interruption. Задерживание and отпускание it is provided гидравлически operated multidisk муфтами and multidisk brakes. To receive a multistage transmission, three planetary numbers are one after another connected. So there is a four-speed transmission with a reverse gear. Tooth gearing coordination is provided with hydraulic management of a transmission.

The hydrotransformer

The hydrotransformer section distinctly shows blades of a pump wheel and directing wheel. The arrow specifies in a frictional overlay of coupling for connection of a pump wheel with the engine which – except for service conditions with cold ATF – since higher transfers switches to a rigid through drive for prevention проскальзывания.

Transfer of draught of the engine on a transmission occurs by means of a liquid. The engine actuates a pump wheel in the twisting moment converter. The liquid of the transformer resulted in rotation can actuate in turn now the turbine wheel connected with a transmission by means of the directing wheel located between both wheels.

Between rotating with frequency of rotation of a shaft of the engine the difference among turns exists a pump wheel and a turbine wheel on a transmission input always. At трогании from a place this difference is the greatest, to increase in speed of frequency of rotation of a pump and turbine wheel are more and more compared. But at a usual automatic transmission all the same remains defined проскальзывание. In sew to a transmission the twisting moment converter in the third and fourth ranges of change of the transfer relation it is blocked, i.e. Between the engine and АКП there is a rigid connection. Thus fuel is saved.
