Removal and engine installation

The description of removal of the engine for all types of engines would leave far for frameworks of this management. Here some essential points, concerning this theme are resulted only.

The engine is taken out upwards without a transmission. For this purpose it is required to you полиспаст (таль) which you can strongly suspend at sufficient height. It is even better, if you have an assistant already having experience.
Before the beginning actually works on engine removal it is necessary to remove all stirring parts of the car: a cowl, the bottom protection of the engine, the case of the air filter, the storage battery and if necessary a radiator.
As in car Audi 80 the large quantity of electric wires and vacuum pipelines is established, you should note first of all all of them in summary to establish all of them on a proper place.
Before switching-off of the storage battery you should be convinced available at you a number protective code of the anticreeping coding of an autoradio tape recorder.
The storage battery should be disconnected only at the switched off ignition, differently it is possible to damage management blocks.
Before it is definitive отфланцовывать the engine, it is necessary to bring under a transmission a support from below or slightly to raise it together with even built in engine. In a workshop for this purpose apply the special tool which rests against edge of fastening of a wing of the car.
The engine is supplied by pendant eyes into which it is possible to insert the tool for lifting. Watch careful fastening of a cable.

Illustrations show two important steps at engine removal (the 6-cylinder engine is represented): in a workshop the engine acts in film by means of such adaptation for engine lifting. Only for this purpose the engine has fixing eyes into which, of course, it is possible to insert and chains or ropes. The image on the right shows the so-called basic device (1) which here is integrated with the holder of a transmission (2). Sense in giving a support to a transmission which otherwise at the removed engine would settle downwards. The Same effect can achieve if to bring under a transmission a support from below.
